Choose 'Add an Event Rate' from the rate management page on a zone.
The first part of setting up a rate is similar to recurring rates.
Give your rate a name, set the rate for purchase and set the price of the rate.
The next step is where you choose the Event Rate status by toggling Event rate box (vs. Recurring Rates ).
Next is the purchase availability.
Set when you want the event rate to be purchased. During this time no other rates will be available for purchase.
You can choose the exact date and time for the event through the calendar.
Next you have to choose if the event is Exclusive or not, selecting the option.
For more information on Exclusive vs. Non-Exclusive rates can be found here.
When there is an upcoming exclusive event rate, customers purchasing parking sessions that are scheduled to end while the event rate is active will be informed at checkout that their session will end when the event rate begins.
E.g. If there is an exclusive event rate that begins at 5pm, a user purchasing a 1-hour session at 4:45pm will be informed at checkout that their session will end at 5pm when the event rate begins.
Lastly you choose the rate type, in regards to when it is expires and this part can get complicated.
Valid Between: Choose the start and end time of the event rate - similar to the start and end time you set above but this is when the purchase will be valid. This is most common if your users are paying well in advance, so they can just choose the appropriate rate and then arrive and park during the set event time.
Valid For: Select this option and set a duration in hours. Once set, you can forget it. This is the simplest method, but keep in mind the end time will vary depending on when the user makes the purchase. It will expire exactly after the selected number of hours.
Valid Until: This one requires the most planning and configuring, but is often the most common.
You can choose to end the rate at a specific time such as 6AM the next day, no matter when they purchase.
You have to choose whether is an overnight rate, as in 'is this rate available for purchase before and after midnight - if the answer is yes check the box.
Overnight Toggle
If the rate is only available until 23:59 - you can check above on your availability configuration then it is NOT an overnight rate.
Even if your valid end time is the next day, if the availability is not spanning before and after midnight is it NOT an overnight rate.
If your rate is available from 10PM one day and is still available until 2AM the Next Day, then it is an overnight rate!
Multi-Day Toggle
If your rate is multiple days, even if its just until 1AM the next day, its a multi-day rate.
If you choose the Multi-day rate option, you have to choose the amount of days (usually 1) however this can be used for a 3-day-weekend rate so you can configure accordingly.
Choose the 'Submit' button at the end of the set-up to save.
